A. Sue "Pudge" Skidmore, 82, formerly of Takoma Park, passed away on Thursday, September 5, 2013 at Frostburg Village Assisted Living.

Born December 11, 1930 in Frostburg to the late Carl A. Skidmore and Agnes (Finzel) Skidmore. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her brother, Carl D. Skidmore and many aunts and uncles.

Sue attended Catherman's Business School and retired from the General Service Administration as an office clerk in Washington, DC. She enjoyed gardening, bowling, cooking, helping others, and going to the theater. In Tacoma Park, she had an open-door policy which earned her the name "Holiday Inn". Sue was well known for her excellent cooking and invited many into her home for home cooked meals. Eventually she shared her talents and volunteered at Meals on Wheels. Her love of travel took her many places, such as the USA, Ireland, Switzerland, Bermuda, Canada, and Alaska, however Ireland was her favorite, "We ate fish and chips till it came out my ears and the beer was very good!" she quoted in a July interview with the Connection Frostburg Village.

Surviving are her sister, Lois Matese and husband John, Frostburg; sister-in-law, LeEsta Skidmore, FL; uncle, James Skidmore and Jeanne Laurel; nieces and nephews, Toni Toothaker and husband Keith, Cumberland, Michael Matese and wife Shannon, Wash. DC, Donald Skidmore and wife Terri, FL, Tim Skidmore and wife Tecora, WA, Brenda Ostinowsky and husband Pat, FL, Tracie Plish and husband Dana, FL, numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews, and several special friends.

Sue fought a long battle with ALS and asks that in lieu of flowers to please make a donation to ALS.

Interment will be in Sunset Memorial Park.

Thank you to all the employees at the Frostburg Village Assisted Living and Rev. Rebecca Vardiman.
