Born Feb. 22, 1929, in Bobtown, Pa., LaVerne was the daughter of the late Reginald Paul George Sr., and Agnes Teresa (Holtschneider) George. A daughter, Janet Kay Shrout and a son-in-law, Donald G. Shrout, also preceded her in death.
