She is survived by her husband, Ervin Hinderman of Sleepy Eye; sons, Cliff Hinderman of Spirit Lake, Iowa, Gary and wife Janet Hinderman of Sleepy Eye, and Douglas and wife Mavis Hinderman of Sleepy Eye; grandchildren, Michelle and husband Jeff Krueger, Melissa and husband Mike Heine, Brandon Hinderman, Jeff Hinderman and fiancee Tammy Sellner, and Ricky Hinderman; sister, Phyllis and husband Clarence Buboltz of Fairfax; brother, Lyle Nelson of New Ulm; and sister-in-law, Christine Nelson of Sleepy Eye. She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Earl Nelson; and sister, Lucille Buboltz.
Mabel was born July 8, 1916, in Eden Township, near Morgan, the daughter of Nels and Mary (Discher) Nelson. She grew up and attended country schools in Redwood and Brown counties near Morgan. She married Ervin Hinderman on Sept. 21, 1935, at St. John's Lutheran Church, Fairfax. The couple made their home in Home Township, Brown County, where they lived and farmed for many years. Mabel worked at Del Monte in Sleepy Eye for 20 years. The couple retired in 1975 and remained on the farm until moving to Sleepy Eye in 1998. Mabel was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church in Fairfax. She enjoyed cooking, quilting and sewing.
