Mrs. Edith McNish VanderHeul, Canoga Park, Calif., died March 25, of a heart attack.
She was born Aug. 8, 1899, the youngest child of the late Andrew and Anna Hart McNish, Brookfield.
She graduated from Brookfield High School and attended classes four years at Drury College, Springfield.
She was married to Eugene Cox, Columbia, Dec. 19, 1924.
They were parents of two children, Gene Alfred, lost at sea July 4, 1944, when a training submarine sank near Pearl Harbor, and Mrs. William E. (Ruth) Gillespie.
The family moved to Los Angeles in the 1930's and her husband died in 1948. A few years later, Mrs. Cox married William VanderHeul, who died in 1962.
She is survived by a daughter, Mrs. William E. Gillespie, Canoga Park, Calif., three grandchildren, Gene Edward, Janice and Joyce; a brother, George McNish, Brookfield; one sister, Mrs. Lavenia Mace, Linneus, two nieces, Mrs. Lois Baskett, Laclede, and Mrs. Laverne Jacob, Fayette; and nephew, Howard McNish, Findlay, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, Loren and Ernest McNish, and two sisters, Florence and Lura McNish.
