Adolph O. Drews, age 78, of the Homme Home for the Aging, Wittenberg, Wisconsin, died Saturday afternoon, at the nursing home. He was born Sept 26, 1903, in the Town of Wittenberg, the son of the late William and Sophia Drews.
He was married Sept. 28, 1926, in Wittenberg to Hazel Long, who survives. The couple farmed in the Town of Wittenberg after marriage. They moved to the village of Wittenberg in March of 1978. He has been a resident at Homme Home since August of this year.
Survivors besides his widow Hazel;
three sons: Ronald of Route 2, Fremont,WI; Dennis of Milwaukee, WI and Larry of Route 1, Aniwa, WI;
three daughters: Mrs. Milan (Alice) Bernarde of Route 2, Wittenberg, WI; Mrs. Lawrence (Janice) Pike of Wausau, WI and Mrs. David (Donna) Hull of Bowler, WI;
one sister, Mrs. Clara Zimmerman of the Family Heritage Nursing Home, Schofield, WI;
17 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one son, two daughters, and two brothers.
Services will be on Wednesday, Nov 18, at 11 a.m. at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Wittenberg. The Rev. Richard Borchers and the Rev. Roger McAbee will officiate. Burial will be at the Forest Home Cemetery in Wittenberg. Friends may call after 4 p.m., Tuesday, at Schmidt-Schulta Funeral Home in Wittenberg and then on Wednesday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service.
