He married Clarissa Hildebrand October 7, 1859, in Adams County, Illinois. They were blessed with nine children, though three died as infants: William E, Alfred, and a daughter. George K.R. died as a small child. Another son William died as a young man of about 19 years old.
This family went through plenty of hard times. It seems that William Harris and wife Clarissa do not have stones or markers on their graves since they are not listed in county histories or cemetery listings - but I believe they are buried here with their children and other relatives.
Clarissa Harris survived her husband and was the executrix of his WILL, which was probated as published in Quincy Daily Whig, October 1, 1885, Page 3: lists 5 children besides his wife.
Clarissa Harris died in 1904 and by then, only two of their children were still living: Charles and Claudia.
