RIVERDALE — Lewis Vickers Luckenbach, a member of the Luckenbach shipping family and son of Mrs. Susan Vickers Luckenbach of Riverdale, died Sunday in a Bremerton, Wash., hospital. He had suffered a stroke last week. Mr. Luckenbach was born in Brooklyn Mar. 15, 1898. He retired in 1936 as a vice president of the Luckenbach Steamship Co., and two years later was elected chairman of the Cuban Steamship Co. He was a motorboat, polo and yachting enthusiast, and interested also in the theater. Surviving besides his mother are his wife, Mrs. Maria Luckenbach; a son, Lewis J. Luckenbach of Galena Park, Texas: a daughter, Miss Linda Louisa Luckenbach of Bridgeport, W. Va; a half-sister, Mrs. Andrea Luckenbach Hammer of Lexington, Ky., and a half-brother, Edgar F. Luckenbach, Jr. of New York City.

Lewis' wife was Maria Wolkonsky Luckenbach. She remarried George Livingston de Peyster, in December of 1959.
