She was active in the Custer County Historical society and compiled many ancient obituaries from the old newspapers. She served meals on wheels until long after she should have been receiving them. She and husband Herb ate at the Senior Center whenever possible. Herb took her to the "maintenance shop" each Friday, that was the beauty shop.
She told me that her husband come home one day and said "I think I'll retire". To which she replied "oh, No, you won't". It was a great story.
It was my pleasure to provide music for her funeral. They wanted "Climb Every Mountain", one of my favorite songs.
