Irene Lauersdorf

Irene M. Lauersdorf, 80, of Juneau, formerly of Lebanon, passed away Saturday morning, Dec. 6, 2008 at Clearview Nursing Home in Juneau, following a lingering illness.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Lebanon, with the Rev. John Kelling officiating. Burial will be in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery in Lebanon.

Relatives and friends may call to pay their respect at the church on Thursday from noon until the time of the service.

Memorials may be given to St. Peter's Lutheran Church Kitchen Renovation Fund or to the charity of one's choice.

The former Irene Magdalena Lydia Bliese was born in Watertown on Nov. 6, 1928, daughter of Henry and Anna (Wille) Bliese. On Oct. 21, 1950, she married Orval Lauersdorf at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Lebanon.

Irene lived most of her adult life in the town of Lebanon and was a member of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in Lebanon, where she held the office of treasurer for the ladies aid. She loved to spend time with her grandchildren and enjoyed flower gardening, quilting, crocheting, cooking, bowling and dart ball.

Survivors include her husband, Orval Lauersforf of Watertown; five children, Machelle (Fred) Oestreich of Ixonia; Glen (Bonnie) Lauersdorf of Watertown; Blaine (Kathy) Lauersdorf of Rubicon; Fern (Dave) Sederberg of Elk River, Minn.; Sheryl (Jeff) Schultz of Appleton; 16 grandchildren, Ryan Oestreich, Lynn (Scott) Nichter, Raymond (Heather) Lauersdorf, Brandon, Chelsea, Zachary and Erienne Lauersdorf, Constance, Matthew and Kimberly (fiance, Mike Moran) Lauersdorf, Joshua Sederberg, Sarah (Dave) Telander, Thomas Sederberg, Heather (fiance, Richard Johnson) Schultz, Julie (Tim) Rudie, and Daniel Schultz; eight great-grandchildren, Ava, Hunter, Austin, Eric, Abigail, Hailey, Isabella, and Gavin; and two sisters-in-law, Lucille Lauersdorf of Ixonia and Rachel Lauersdorf of Neosho.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents; a son-in-law, Floyd Schliewe; a sister-in-law, Sylvia Nelson; three brothers-in-law, Marvin and Florentine Lauersdorf, John Nelson and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. Edwin Lauersdorf.

She was the last member of her immediate family.
