Emma Lee Oakes
Emma Lee Oakes, born February 5, 1919, 66, Stanford, died Monday, July 2, 1984, at the Fort Logan Hospital after a long illness.
A native of Lincoln County, Oakes was a retired employee of Palm Beach Company In Danville (16 years) and a member of the Stanford Baptist Church.
She Is survived by her husband, Willie J. Oaks, Stanford; a son, Jerry Oaks, Stanford; a daughter, Mrs. Kris tine Oakes, Lexington; a brother,' Hubert r, Deatherage, Jr., . ' Stanford; three sisters,' Mrs. Juanlta Parker of Route 3, Mrs. Lucilee Goodrich and Mrs. Irene Parker, both of Frankfort; and S grandchildren.
The funeral was held at the Fox Funeral Home at 2:0Q p.m. Wednesday, July 4, 1984, with the Rev. Morris Trayner officiating. Pallbearers were Jim Wood Deatherage, Bug Deatherage, Jr., Mike Parker, Jim Ed Williams, Ronnie Deatherage, John Vaught, and Eddie Parker.
Burial was in the BuffaloSprings Cemetery.
