Helen Burford Bell passed away Thursday, January 10, 2013 at the age of 89.
Helen is survived by her sons, Kerry (Pam) Bell of Kennesaw, GA and Mitchell (Hazel) Bell of Lookout Mountain, GA and her grandchildren, Frank (Megan) Bell, Mitchell Bell, Kelsey Bell (Michael), KJ (Chelsea) Bell, Hayden Bell, and Kevin Bell. She was pre deceased by her husband, Bill, and her son Fred (Marcy).
Born in 1923 in rural Mississippi into a large and loving family, Helen had a sense of adventure at a young age. She loved travel, scrabble and especially being near the water. She will be greatly missed.
Her family will have a graveside service at her family plot in Independance, MS.
Her family would like to thank all of the caregivers at Alexian Grove, Alexian Valley, Alexian Village and Hospice of Chattanooga for all of the loving care they extended to her.Helen Buford Bell, formerly of Marietta, Ga. Helen is survived by her sons, Kerry (Pam) Bell of Kennesaw, Ga. and Mitchell (Hazel) Bell of Lookout Mountain, Ga.; and her grandchildren, Frank (Megan) Bell, Mitchell Bell, Kelsey Bell DeBacker (Michael), Kerry, Jr. (Chelsea) Bell, Hayden Bell, and Kevin Bell. She was predeceased by her husband, Bill, and her son, Fred (Marcy).

Helen was born in rural Mississippi, lived in suburban Philadelphia for most of her marriage, retired in Destin, Fla. and finally, Marietta,Ga. She was known for her energy and sense of adventure and even zip-lined in Costa Rica when she was 85. She loved to travel, play scrabble, dance and dine with friends. Helen was a beloved mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, and friend. She will be greatly missed. Helen's funeral service will be at 12 noon, Saturday, Jan. 19, at the Chapel in the Pines, 354 Gravel Springs Road, Senatobia, Miss., followed by a brief graveside service at her family plot in Independence, Miss.
