"Russell Hartt, 74, died Nov. 17, in a St Joseph hospital. Born July 15, 1902, in Savannah, he was a lifelong resident of Andrew county and a member of St Paul Lutheran Church of St Joseph. He was employed by the state highway department for many years and retired in 1967 as a heavy equipment operator.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Clark Hartt of Savannah; one daughter, Mrs. Lola Swope of Savannah; three brothers, Dewey and Luther of Savannah and Lloyd of DeRidder, La.; two sisters, Mrs. Marvel Thomas of Forsythe and Mrs. Ethel Mackey of Savannah; and one grandson.

Services were held November 19 in the Jackson Funeral Home chapel. The Rev. Robert Kunz officiated with burial in Savannah Cemetery." Savannah Reporter and Andrew County Democrat (Savannah, Missouri), December 2, 1976
