Greensboro – Richard Gale Bolling, Sr., 87, passed away Sunday, January 19, 2014, at Moses H. Cone Memorial Hospital.

A 2:00 p.m. graveside will be held Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Westminster Gardens. The family will receive friends on Monday, January 20, from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at Forbis and Dick North Elm Street Chapel.

Richard was born in Greensboro on October 16, 1926 to the late Samuel Tyler Bolling and Annie Gale Bolling.

He served his country in the US Navy during WWII aboard the USS Sicily. He graduated from Guilford College with a degree in economics and began a career as a design engineer. Richard was a past master of Greensboro #76 Masonic lodge. After retiring from Beaman Corporation in 1992, he enjoyed traveling with his wife, Sarah, brother, Jerry and wife, Mary. He also enjoyed his favorite hobby, building and flying radio controlled model airplanes.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Louise Brown Bolling. He was also preceded in death by brothers Samuel T. Bolling, Jr., and Gerald M. Bolling.

He is survived by a daughter, Patricia "Patti" Bolling Camden, as well as a son, Richard "Rick" Gale Bolling, Jr.
