Our beloved Dad and Papaw, Edwin Stanley Benson, went home to "Paradise" on January 18, 2014 at the age of 96. He was a Godly man and served in the Lutheran and Baptist faiths as a deacon.

He was the fourth son of Edwin and Sophia Benson, who preceded him in death. Also preceding were his four brothers: Ernest, Arnold, Walter, and Orlin. Together the five boys played the Globetrotters in Randall, Iowa when they were young.

He served his country in India in World War II in the United States Army and then for over 35 years in the Department of Veterans' Affairs as Chief of Construction and Valuation in Little Rock while helping veterans obtain benefits.

He dearly loved his deceased wife, Lilas Buck Benson. His loving children will cherish his memory: daughter Brenda Kaye and Randy, and granddaughter Frankie Kaye Pedigo, daughter Lilas Marion and Ed Greathouse and grandchildren: Michelle and Paul Gramling and great-grandsons - Josiah and Drake Wymer, Heather and Lee Strickland and great-granddaughter Lauren Keppel, and bonus family, and Eddie and Jessica Greathouse and great-grandchildren - Jewel, Angel, Edwin, Abby, Emmy, Tori, and Trey.

Services will be held at 12:00 P.M., Wednesday, January 22, 2014 at Roller-Chenal Funeral Home Chapel, 13801 Chenal Parkway, Little Rock, AR 72211, (501)224-8300.

Interment will follow at Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander.

Visitation will be at 11:00 A.M., Wednesday. Minister Edwin F. Greathouse, Jr. will preside assisted by his son, Eddie Greathouse. Pallbearers will be his beloved family.
