Glad D. Matchett

Glen D. Matchett, 68, of Russellville, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2014, at his home.

He was born December 4, 1945, in Atkins, son of the late Delmar and Naomi Pettit Matchett. He was a member of the Free Will Baptist Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, LaDonna Matchett; grandson, Caleb Matchett; sister, Ruth Matchett; and sister-in-law, Bonnie Matchett.

He is survived by his children, Rhonda and husband Ken Holmes of Dover, Donald Matchett and wife Margo, Mike Matchett and wife Brandy, and Melissa Matchett, all of Atkins; 4 brothers and sisters, Frank Matchett of Morrilton, Janice and husband Garry Hudson of Pottsville, Joyce and husband Gary Simmons of Atkins, and Mary Beth and husband Johnny McCoy of Russellville; grandchildren, Joshua Holmes and wife Jamie of Dover, Aaron Holmes of Cherry Point, North Carolina, Keeli Matchett and Asher Matchett; a great-grandchild, LilyAnn Grace; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 2:00 PM, Monday, January 20, at Lemley Chapel with Rev. Frank Matchett and Rev. Don Matchett officiating. Burial is in Oakland Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service of Atkins. Visitation is from 2:00-4:00 PM Sunday.

Pallbearers are Mark Simmons, Matt Standridge, Chuck McCoy, Thomas McCoy, Ken Holmes, Steve Matchett and Josh Holmes.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in his honor may be made to Acts 1:8 Missions Support, 2105 Harkrider, Conway, AR 72032.

LaDonna Matchett, 58, of Russellville died Sunday, July 3, 2005, at her home.

She was born May 10, 1947, in Atkins.

She was a pianist and member of Antioch Free Will Baptist Church, and was a minister?s wife for 28 years.

She was preceded in death by a grandson, Caleb Matchett; maternal grandparents, Marshall and Ona May Patterson; and paternal grandparents, William Otto and Cora Burris.

Survivors include her parents, Billy Don and Myrtle Burris of Atkins; her husband, Glen Matchett of Russellville; two sons and daughters-in-law, Don and Margo Matchett of Atkins and Michael and Brandy Matchett of Russellville; two daughters and a son-in-law, Rhonda and Ken Holmes of Dover, and Melissa Matchett of Russellville; a brother, Marshall Baker of Russellville; four sisters, Sandra Burris of Malvern, Beverly Webb of Corinth, Texas, Relda Hendrick of Paris, Texas, and Mandy Caldwell of Russellville; two grandsons, Joshua and Aaron Holmes; and one granddaughter, Keeli Matchett.

Services will be 10 a.m. Friday at Lemley Chapel with Rev. Bill Caldwell and Rev. Fred Goates officiating. Burial will be at St. Joe Cemetery by Lemley Funeral Service.

Pallbearers will be John Newell, Bill Caldwell, Jim Headrick, Jerry Don Burris, Jim Powell and Bradley Caldwell.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday.
