Mrs. Anna E. Fletcher, 71, died Sunday morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Wm. Blake Allen, 16 Grinnell street, after an illness of nine weeks duration. Mrs. Fletcher was a native of Effingham, N. H. She was twice married. Her first husband was Abraham Varney, who died many years ago. By this marriage there were two other children besides Mrs. Allen, Nelson Varney of Huntington, Long Island, and Daris Varney of New Haven, Ct. Her second husband was Charles Fletcher of Marlboro, Vt., who died several years ago. For the past two years Mrs. Fletcher had made her home in Greenfield. The funeral was held from the home of her daughter Tuesday afternoon, rev. J. B. Whiteman officiating. The burial was in Green River cemetery.
