Jewell Eileen “Sally” Insko Beyersdoerfer, age 87, of Foster, Kentucky, passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2014, at her home. Born on November 18, 1926, in Foster, Kentucky, she was a daughter of the late Lentel and Alberta Pangburn Insko. On February 28, 1947, she married John Leroy (J. L.) Beyersdoerfer, and her husband of 62 years preceded her in death on June 9, 2009. She was a homemaker and a member of the Pine Grove United Methodist Church, in Pendleton County, where she served as the church pianist and participated in United Methodist Women (UMW). She was a member of the Pendleton County Homemakers, a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and a Kentucky Colonel. As a self-taught pianist, Sally’s love for music spanned her entire life, from playing the piano for dances in school, to singing with her sisters and playing in area churches as a young adult, to playing for any event at her church and in the community. She was always willing to share her talent.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by: two brothers, Lentel “June” Insko and Norman Insko; and one sister, Linda Sue “Lynn” Sexton. She is survived by: her daughter, Connie (Steve) McKinney, of Lexington, Kentucky; her son, Steve (JoAnn) Beyersdoerfer, of Foster; four grandchildren, Kerry (Timothy) Graul, Stephanie McKinney, Kate (Josh) Bieker and Betsy (Robby) Powell; one great-grandson, Benjamin; seven siblings, Annette “Toots” Sturgeon, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Marilyn Galloway, of Foster, Joyce Estep, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Melvin “Bucky” Insko, of Florence, Kentucky, Ada Ruth “Ruthie” Sanders, of Cincinnati, Ohio, John Insko, of Butler, Kentucky, and Larry “Butch” Insko, of Walton, Kentucky; and a host of extended family members and friends.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, at the Woodhead Funeral Home, in Falmouth, with Rev. Carol Mains officiating. The visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home preceding the service. Interment will take place in the Lenoxburg Cemetery, in Bracken County. Memorials are suggested to the Pine Grove United Methodist Church.
