In Loving Memory of a wonderful wife, mother, sister, sister-in-law, aunt, grandmother and a caring friend.
Mrs. Olivia (Ollie Van) Bankhead departed this old world on January 6, 2014, at the tender age of 73. She was affectionately known as Nan to family and friends.
Olivia Bankhead was born on March 12, 1940, to K.C. and Renee Warfield of Crockett, TX. She was raised by her grandparents Rev. Paul and Betty Lou Jones along with her three brothers.
On May 8, 1958, she married Deacon Oliver "Jack" Bankhead. She was a member of Mt. Moriah Baptist Church.
She leaves to cherish her memories her loving children Michael and Belinda Bankhead, step-children Annie T. and Willie D. Bankhead (Shirley), brother James Thompson, granddaughters A.'Shayla Bankhead, Shambrica Bankhead, LaWanda Bankhead, and grandsons Percival C. Bryant II, Keyondre Bankhead, and Christopher Bankhead (Kimiko), nieces, Shirley Seahorn (Sammy), Linda, Renee Warfield and nephews, Leonis Warfield Jr., and Dexter Warfield (Mary) and god-daughter LeDonna Burnett.
As a loving aunt, she leaves devoted nieces Marcelline Douglas (Richmond), Natasha, Nakisha Freeman and Desirha Roberts (Brandon) and Kierra Williams and sister-in-laws: Gracie Edwards, Lottie Bronson (T.J.), Mary Harris (James), Susan Jones and a host of other nieces, nephews, and other family members.
Nan was preceded in death by her loving and devoted husband Oliver "Jack" Bankhead of 54 years, parents K.C. and Renee Jones, grandparents Paul and Betty Lou Jones; brothers: Leonis Warfield, Charles Jones and sister-in-law Doris Warfield.
Nan was loved by everyone and She will truly be missed by all.
Special thanks to her niece Natasha Freeman for her caring and devotion during her stay at U.T.M.B. and to her neighbors Mr. and Mrs. Villarreal.
Visitation will be held on January 18, 2014 at Wynn Funeral Home, 602-32nd Street from 10:00 to 11:55 a.m. followed by Homegoing Celebration at 12:00 noon. Interment will be January 20, 2014 at 9:15 a.m. at Houston National Cemetery, Houston, TX.
