Cecil R. Ramey, 74, of Buckfield, Queens County, died Monday in Queens General Hospital, Liverpool.

Born in Buckfield, he was a son of the late Joseph and Mary (MacLean) Ramey.

He was a long-time employee of the Nova Scotia Department of Transportation and a member of Queens County Liberal Association. He was also a member of Pine Rest Cemetery Committee, an honourary member of Greenfield Volunteer Fire department, and a Commissioner of Oaths.

He represented District Nine on Queens County Municiapl Council for the last thirteen years. He was re-elected for his fifth term this month. His duties as county councillor included the chairmanship of the management committee for Hillsview Acres. As a member of the public property committee, he helped in the purchase and remodelling of the new municipal adminstration building.

He is survied by a daughter, Mrs. Ruth Henley, Southboro, Mass.; three sisters, Estella (Mrs. Lawrence Hanley), Sommerville, Mass.; Cassie (Mrs. Anthony Raymond), Tewksbury, Mass.; and Dorothy (Mrs. Aubrey Bollivar), Buckfield; three grandchildren and a great-grandchild.

He was predeceased by his wife, the former Edith Palmer; a sister, Bertha; and three brothers, Burnoff, Delbert, and Irving.

The body is in Chandlers' Funeral Home, Liverpool, where funeral will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Rev. David Roy officiating, with burial in Pine Rest Cemetery, Greenfield.
