"TEXICO COUPLE VICTIMS OF TRUMPED UP CHARGES
Texico, N.M., July 23 - G.L. Callahan and Mrs. Annie Gullahorn, who were arrested a week ago at Hereford, Texas, charged with having counterfeit money in their possession, were given a preliminary hearing at Amarillo, Texas, a few days ago and were promptly released. The charges again the couple were false and ridiculous and are said to have been trumped up by over zealous officers anxious to make a record. It is likely that Callahan and Mrs. Gullahorn will ask redress in the shape of heavy damages for false imprisonment and the indications are that they have a very good case, as there was absolutely no evidence on which to base their arrest. Both have always borne the best of reputations and their arrest created a sensation."

To the Honorable E.B. Deason, Judge of Probate of said County:
The petition of A.J. Gullahorn, respectfully represents that John W. Gullahorn, departed this life on or about 6th of November, 1915, while a resident of said County, leaving no last will, so far as petitioner is advised or believes; that the death of said John W. Gullahorn was known sixty days before the filing of this petition, and petitioner further shows unto this honorable Court that deceased was at the time of his death, seized and possessed of a small personal estate in the form of a deposit in the bank of Tuskegee, at Tuskegee, Alabama, amounting to approximately two hundred and fifty dollars; that this is the only property, either real or person, of which deceased died seized or possessed; that he owned no real estate.

Second:
That the names, ages and residences of the next of kin, left by deceased, are as follows, to-wit,
A.J. Gullahorn, Ensley, Ala, E.T. Gullahorn, Cuba, Ala, and W.A. Gullahorn, whose residence is unknown, and the widow of deceased, Annie Gullahorn, and an only child whose name is Cecil Gullahorn, the age of sixteen years, reside at Amarillo, in the State of Texas.

That petitioner and E.T. Gullahorn do hereby relinquish their right to administer on said Estate; that up to the time of filing of this petition none of the next of kin entitled thereto applied to the court for letters of administration; that up to the time of filing none of the creditors nor any other fit person, or anyone else, have applied for or obtained letters of administration, on said estate.

That the only debts owing at the time of death of said deceased were and are debts contracted during his last illness for his personal comfort, and the sole purpose of this petition, is to inaugurate legal authority to pay and discharge said debts, as they may be allowed by this honorable Court.

Wherefore, petition prays that the administration of said of said John W. Gullahorn
be committed to the Sheriff of said County; Henry A. Harris, as special Administrator, and that all orders and decrees, necessary to the accomplishment of such purpose be made and ordered in this premise.
