Jessie Lee Russell, age 82, of Boerne, passed away on February 11, 2008. Born in Dallas County, Texas, she was the daughter of David Russell Hiser and Mabel Faye Burns Hiser. Having moved from Birmingham, AL, she had been a resident of Boerne for 15 years and a member of the First Baptist Church. Preceded in death by her parents, sons, Donald Dean Russell and Wayne Allen Russell, grandson, Don Russell, Jr., brothers, William Hiser and David Hiser, and sisters, Thelma Howard and Norma Freeman, Jessie is survived by her husband of 65 years, Willie L. Russell; Daughter, Lee Ann Jackson and her husband, Greg; Grandchildren, Allen Russell and his wife Becky, Melanie Simmons and her husband, Peter, Hunter Jackson, Whit Russell, and Kelley Harless and her husband, Keith; 9 Great Grandchildren; Nieces, Nephews and many friends. Visitation will be on Wednesday, February 13, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at First Baptist Church with the Funeral Service following at 11:00 a.m. at the church, Pastor Mike Harkrider, officiating. On Friday, Feb. 15, there will be a Funeral in Birmingham, Alabama, with interment following in the Valhalla Cemetery.
