Walter Howard Crump, 90, of Whitney, passed away on January 15, 2014 at his home. He was born in Chase City, Virginia, on January 1, 1924, to Joe and Mary Abbee Crump.
As a mechanic, he worked mainly on busses, trash trucks and on the assembly line. He served his country in te Army Air Force during World War II. Twelve years ago, he moved to Whitney from Rock Port.
An avid fisherman, he loved the outdoors very much. He enjoyed making concrete yard art and doing all kinds of things with concrete as well as carpentry and making things from wood. He especially loved his dogs, "Chief" and "Big Boy." He was a member of the VFW.
Preceded in death by his parents, six brothers and one sister. Survived by a daughter, Patricia Ann Crump, a brother, Raymond Crump and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will hold a memorial service at a later date.
