NASHVILLE — John Eston Wilson, 78, of Nashville passed away Saturday, June 9, 2012 at his residence after a lengthy illness.

Mr. Wilson was born Nov. 2, 1933 to Garnet Lee and Lizzie Kate Davis Wilson. He was a warehouse manager with Harvey's Grocery Co. before retiring and was a member of Pine Grove Baptist Church.

Survivors include his mother, of Tifton; son and daughter-in-law, of Nashville; two sisters and brother-in-law,of Nashville and of Littleton, Colo.; two grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Wilson was preceded in death by his wife, Melba Hancock Wilson; one son, Hue Wilson; and one brother, Jimmie Lee Wilson.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Pine Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Danny Ray and Rev. Jim Williams officiating. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will be receiving friends from 7 to 9 tonight at Purvis Funeral Home in Adel.

Serving as active pallbearers will be Allen Carter, Randy Hall, Chad Vickers, Josh Curry, Robert Curry and James Smith. Condolences may be expressed to the family online at www.purvisfh.com. Purvis Funeral Home of Adel is in charge of arrangements.
