Funeral services for Thelma Jean Fletcher Leonard, 83, Tyler, are scheduled for noon Saturday, Jan. 18, 2014, in the Ernest S. Sterling Memorial Chapel with the Rev. Ralph Caraway Sr., eulogist.
Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Brooks-Sterling & Garrett Funeral Directors, Tyler.
Mrs. Leonard died Jan. 13, 2014, in a Tyler hospital.
She was born July 13, 1930, in Crockett to the late Willie and Belle Mae Fletcher. She attended Houston County School and was a bus monitor for TISD. She was a member of Smith Temple Church of God in Christ, where she was on the deaconess board, sang in the choir and served as president of the gospel choir. She was a longtime resident of Smith County.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Albert Leonard; brothers, Willie Fletcher and Waddell Fletcher; and sisters, Stella Jones and Yvonne Boyd.
Survivors include her sons, Albert L. Leonard Jr., Willie Clyde Leonard and James Earl Leonard; daughter, Patricia Childs; sisters, Flossie Mae Burns and Willie Bell Walker; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
