Dorothy Mae Miller, 89, passed away Wednesday, January 15, 2014 in Abilene.

Visitation will be Monday, January 20, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. Funeral will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Elmwood Funeral Home Chapel with interment following in Elmwood Memorial Park.

Dorothy was born in Bosier City, Louisiana the daughter of Mark Hutson and Mary Eva Hutson.

She graduated Valedictorian from Wylie High School in 1941.

Later that year she married J.F. Miller in Abilene.

Dorothy then when to Cisco Nursing School where she graduated top of her class. She worked 27 years and retired from Abilene State School. She also served as a private nurse for several years before retiring.

Dorothy loved flowers, enjoyed crocheting and made the best yeast rolls around.

She was also a member of the First Primitive Baptist Church of Abilene.

She is survived by her children, Jerry F. Miller of Eastland, Andrea Rister of Abilene, Mike Miller of Carrollton, and Melanie Jones of Eula; 17 Grandchildren; 23 Great Grandchildren; and 15 Great Great Grandchildren.

Her husband, Jeff Miller; her parents; her son, Steven Paul; and her daughter, Diane Stanfield preceded her in death.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the Hendrick Hospice Care.
