Tim Beverford was born to Connie Jean Pearson and Arthur Louis Temple Beverford on Mare Island, Vallejo, California. His last home of record was Hollywood California, where he starred in football and graduated from Hollywood High School in 1967.

Specialist Beverford enlisted in the United States Army, volunteering for duty in the Infantry and subsequently joined the 3rd Platoon of Charlie Company, 1st Battalion (Mechanized), 50th Infantry and was operating with the 4th Battalion (Airborne), 503rd Infantry, 173rd Airborne Brigade in Binh Dinh Province, Former Republic of South Vietnam, at the time of his death.

Tim Beverford was killed when the Armored Personnel Carrier (APC) he was riding hit a booby-trapped 155mm Artillery Round. In spite of swift evacuation by the Battalion Command Helicopter, Beverford died as a result of the blast, never regaining consciousness.

Wounded with him that day were: Cecil Ratliff, John Cole, Albert Butler, Jack Hamby and Mike Reck.
