Edith L. Bahrenfuse was born on November 23, 1914 in Grinnell, IA to Frank Henry and Anna Jenkins (Prosser) Bahrenfuse. She grew up and went to county schools in Poweshiek County in the Grinnell, IA area.
She worked as a waitress in many places including her hometown of Grinnell, IA, Newton, IA, and Corpus Christi, TX. In her earlier years she also worked at Vernon Company in Newton, IA and at Delavan Company in Des Moines, IA.
On July 29, 1963 she married Harold M. Lee in Casper, WY. Together they worked on the Joe Donlin Ranch in Arminto, WY.
Her family said that she enjoyed collecting antique glassware, growing flowers, going to garage sales, and politics. Throughout her life she had many special pets.
She is survived by her niece, Carol Ohm and her husband, Orville of Alden, MN; her nephew, Robert Bahrenfuse and his wife Suzanne Castello of Grinnell, IA; her great niece, Christine Lau and her husband Mike; her great nephews, John and Mindy Ohm, Seth and Nagi Bahrenfuse, Eli and Tracy Bahrenfuse, and Gabriel Bahrenfuse; several great great nieces and nephews; and her dog "Babe".
She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Anna Bahrenfuse; her husband, Harold Lee; her brothers and sister in laws, Raymond and Kathleen Bahrenfuse and Clair and Doris Bahrenfuse; and her infant brothers, Ralph and Harold.
