Josephine M. (Jackie) Barnhart, 84, of Springhill Township (Deep Valley), died at 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, January 1, 2008, in Washington Hospital, after being seriously ill for the past three weeks.

She was born June 4, 1923, in Springhill Township, a daughter of James Allen and Margaret Louvina Earnest Lough, and had resided in the Springhill Township area all her life.

Mrs. Barnhart enjoyed gardening, cooking and baking as long as her health permitted.

In 1966, she married Hubert Lee (Barney) Barnhart, who died February 15, 1999.

Deceased, in addition to her husband and parents, are a son, Dennis Barnhart; a daughter, Marlene Lough Cork; two grandsons, Eddie and Matthew Barnhart; two brothers, James S. and Leo A. Lough; and a sister, Violet Fay Hixenbaugh.

Mrs. Barnhart was the last of her immediate family.
