Stella was predeceased by her parents, Ione Peden Masterson and Birdsall Masterson, and her grandparents, Judge and Mrs. Harris Masterson and Ione Allen Peden and Edward Andrew Peden. Stella spent her early years living with her Grandmother Masterson and attending The Kinkaid School. She also attended boarding school in New Mexico, where her writing and artistic abilities were fostered. Her final home was in Mandeville, Louisiana, where she lived for 31 years and had many friends and adopted animals. She contributed her "off hours" as a volunteer at the Louisiana State Hospital where she became the volunteer coordinator. Stella gravitated to the artistic communities wherever she lived. She loved to entertain and spent many happy hours cooking and enjoying the company of her dear friends. Stella is survived by her sister Ione (Onie) Masterson Doggett of Houston, TX, her niece Stella Louise Fitzhugh (Weezie), husband Jim, and daughter Peden Louise of Abilene, TX; niece Ione Masterson Plummer and son Jonathan Allen; nephew Gene Doggett; and nephew William Leslie Doggett, wife Ann, and children William Leslie and Amy Ann, all of Houston.
