James Allison is the 2nd great grandson of Thomas Allanson, Lord of Christian Temple Manor, Charles Co., Maryland. James was the first Allison in Hancock County. English Extraction. James Allison's birth is listed in the Prince George Parish of Rock Creek Chapel, found in the Washington Cathedral in Washington, D.C. Also can be found in Prince George Parish, Vol. 16, District Record, DAR Library.

NOTES: James Allison's tombstone lists his birth and death date as 1741 - 1841. This is incorrect. See Note below.

MILITARY: James Allison's Military Record. Veteran of the Revolutionary War. 2nd Lt. 3rd Regt. MD Line. Took Patriot's Oath of Fidelity 3 Mar 1778, Montgomery Co., MD. Enlisted in MD 3rd Regt. 10 Dec 1778. Was taken prisoner 16 Aug 1780.
