Karen J. Helm, 76, formerly of Hartford City, IN, passed away at 5:20 PM on Sunday, January 12, 2014 at Markle Health & Rehab in Markle, IN. She was born on Friday, May 07, 1937, in Hartford City. She married Dale L. Helm on Saturday, April 04, 1959 in Hartford City; Dale passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2001. Karen was a graduate of Hartford City high school. She formerly worked at the Blackford County Courthouse. She was a member of the Nimble Neighbors Home Economics Club of Blackford County. Karen was a member of the Markle United Methodist Church and formerly attended the Fairview United Brethren Church in Hartford City.
Survivors Include: Daughter - Allison Helm, Huntington, IN., Daughter - Leslie (Husband, Steve) Douglass, Markle, IN., Brother - Hal (Wife, Diana) Berrier, Grands Rapids, MI., Sister - Cathy (Husband, Robert) Bridges, Alanta, GA. and Granddaughters - Kaitlynne Douglass, Markle, IN. and Stephanie Douglass, West Lafayette, IN.
She was preceded in death by her: Father - Chester Berrier, Mother - Mary (Mattank) Berrier and Husband - Dale L. Helm.

A service to celebrate Karen's life will be at Walker & Glancy Funeral Home at 3:00 PM on Saturday, January 18, 2014 with Pastor Steven McPeek officiating. Interment will follow in the Brookside Cemetery in Montpelier.
