Obituary from the Lock Haven "Daily Democrat" newspaper, dated July 18, 1904
"Mrs Frank T. McNarney
Dies at Fort Meade, S.D.
It was Thought She Was on the Road to Recovery -
Had Written to Her Brother But a few Weeks Ago
Forney Winner received a telegram from Fort Meade, S.D. this afternoon, conveying the sorrowful intelligence that his sister LuLu, wife of Lieutenant Frank T. McNarney, had died at that place, this morning at 12:30 o'clock.
Mrs. McNarney had been ill for over a year and at times her life was despaired of, but recently she had greatly improved, and it was thought she would be restored to her former good health. Only three weeks ago Mrs. McNarney in a letter to her brother expressed her delight at the good prospects of getting well. Hence the news of her death came as a great shock to her relatives and her many friends in Lock Haven will be made sad by the news of her untimely death.
About three years ago Mrs. McNarney went to the Philippines where her husband was stationed, and spent some time. On her return to the United States she visited relatives in this city before going west.
Surviving her are her husband, one child, her brother Forney, and sister Stella. The latter has been making her home in Savannah, GA., but went to Fort Meade several weeks ago, and was with her sister when she died.
It is not known at this time whether the remains will be brought East for burial."
