HARNER, WAYNE E. Of Vandercook Lake passed away at Countryside Care Center, January 8, 2014 age 75. Wayne was born on October 1, 1938 in Jackson, the son of Hollis and Wilma (Budd) Harner. He worked at Diecast Corp. for almost 35 years, he also owned and operated H&H Stone Quarry in Napoleon in the 1970's. He enjoyed the horse racing in Jackson and had a passion for cooking and enjoyed working in his garden and watching it grow. He also loved music of the 1950's the "Golden Oldies". He married the love of his life Edna (Hicks) Harner on December 20, 1959 and she survives, also survived by his two daughters, Teresa (John) Zakrzewski and Paula Miller Harner; his son Randy Harner all of Jackson; seven grandchildren, Richie (Ashley Sharpe) Vinton, Johnny Zakrzewski, Chinelle (Danny) Campbell, Andy (Ashley) Castillo, Trevor Harner, Sadie Miller and Matthew Harner; four great grandchildren, Madalynn Castillo, Ryland Castillo, Evelyn Vinton, Blake Campbell and one step great granddaughter Makayla Campbell; also survived by sister-in-law Carol Harner of Jackson; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law Wanda (Billy Ray) Hayes, Loyce (John) Kirk all of Kentucky; several nieces, nephews and cousins and a special aunt June Konopka. He was preceded in death by a beloved daughter who he cherished, Shari Harner; his parents, his brother Hollis Harner Jr., his sister-in-law Phyllis Harner; his sister Margaret Olney; brother-in-law Wayne Olney and infant brother Elmer. The family wishes to thank Countryside Care Center for the wonderful care and for making him feel at home the past few weeks. A celebration of his life will be held at the funeral home Monday January 13, 2014 at 1:30 PM with Pastor Jerry Bailey officiating. Interment will take place at Hillcrest Cemetery.
