Alice B. Allen SUMMERVILLE - Alice B. Allen, 96, of Summerville, SC, widow of Lucious L. Allen, died Friday, January 10, 2014 at The Village at Summerville. Funeral services will be held Saturday morning, January 18, 2014 at Immanuel Baptist Church, Panama City, FL at 11:00 AM. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends at the church 1 hour prior to the 11:00 service. Memorials may be made to Summerville Baptist Church, 417 Central Avenue, Summerville, SC 29483, Clearmont Baptist Church, 1740 Clearmont Rd., Westminster, SC 29693, or Heartland Hospice of Charleston, 1064 Gardner Rd, Charleston, SC 29407. Mrs. Allen was born July 29, 1917 in River Junction, FL. She was the daughter of J. O. Baggett and Martha Jane Jones Baggett. She was a homemaker and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church, Panama City, FL and the Fuller Ladies Sunday School Class at Summerville Baptist Church. Mrs. Allen loved the Lord with all her heart and spent her talents and gifts training the young people of her church. She touched many generations. Her gentle manner will be remembered by all. Mrs. Allen spent her last years with Alzheimer's. One of her Hospice nurses said, "Mrs. Allen gave "grace" to the disease of Alzheimer's." That is the way she lived her life. Survivors include two sons, five grandchildren; and fourteen great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by two sisters, Carolyn Fain of Stoney Point, NY and Alma Baggett of Port St. Joe, FL.
