CURWENSVILLE - James A. Barrett, 59, of 236 Bailey Rd., Curwensville, died yesterday, July 2, at Clearfield Hospital.
Born Nov. 2, 1921, at Winslow, he was a son of Earl and Myrtle (Bowser) Barrett.
He was married in 1947 in Curwensville to the former Elva Wingert, who survives with one daughter, Mrs. Dennis (Barbara) Baronak of Curwensville, and two grandchildren, Keith Jaames and Bret Dennis.
He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Albert and William.
He retired in 1977 as general sales manager for Clearfield Cheese Co. He served in World War II in the Naval Air Corps and was a 1940 graduate of Curwensville High School.
He was a member of the Curwensville Presbyterian Church, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Clearfield Shrine Club, Jaffa Shrine of Altoona, Coudersport Consistory, F and AM Noble Lodge No. 480 of Curwensivlle, American Legion Post No. 505 and the VFW of Curwsensville.
Services will be at the Chester C. Chidboy Funeral Home Inc. Monday at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Earl M. Brooks officiating. Interment will be at Oak Hill Cemetery, Curwensville.
Friends may call at the funeral home Sunday from 2 p.m. until the service Monday.
