During her successful career as a realtor, she became a lifetime member of the Million Dollar Sales Club of the Northern Virginia Board of Realtors. She was a long time member of Hickory Hills Country Club, where she was an avid golfer and bridge player. She was a member of Schweitzer United Methodist Church. She enjoyed the fellowship of her PEO Chapter of Springfield, Missouri and was an active volunteer in her church and community.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Donald W. Tisdale; her parents, Lawrence Paul and Nancy Shirk; her brother, James Shirk; and her sister and brother-in-law, Barbara and Jack Hartley.
She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Stephany Tisdale and Cary Barneycastle; her daughter, Dr. Nancy O'Reilly; her son and daughter-in-law, Dr. Bradford and Susan Tisdale; her son and daughter-in-law, Douglas and Martha Tisdale; and her sister-in-law, Peggy Shirk. She was the grandmother of eight grandchildren, the great-grandmother of seven great-grandchildren, and the great-great grandmother of one great-great grandson.
