Mrs. Laurene Aldridge Clark, age 96 of Winfield, died Thursday, May 1, 2008 in the Golden Living Center at Winfield. Mrs. Clark was born on June 15, 1911 in Fayette Co. a daughter of William Garfield and Ella Mills Aldridge; lifelong resident of Fayette Co. in the Winfield area; widow of Dowell Aubrey Clark who died 12/11/1961; taught music, piano and guitar; sang with family at numerous funerals throughout the years; and a member of Glen Allen Church of Christ.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Rufus, Robert, Jeff and Roland Aldridge; three sisters, Elaine Wakefield, Earlyne Hubbert and Mary Belle McWhirter; one grandchild, Daphne Paige Clark; one daughter-in-law, Betty Clark; and one son-in-law, Roger McCaleb.

Survivors include one son, Hillman Clark of Winfield; two daughters, Mona (Jimmy) McCaleb of Fayette and Sharon Joyce McCaleb of Winfield; eight grandchildren, Dowell (Sue) Clark, Mark (Teresa) Clark, Brooke (Danny) Whitworth, Chandra (Teddy) Norris, Dax (Dana) McCaleb, Amber (Bruce Perry) McCaleb, Natalie (Joe) Maddox and Braxton Clark (Cassie) McCaleb; ten great-grandchildren, Jessica Clark, Brett Clark, Kyle Clark, Eric Dodson, Zachery (Jennifer) Hughes, Isaac Norris, Alexandria Norris, Sarina McCaleb and Aidan McCaleb; one great-great-grandchild, Maci Hughes; two sisters, Melba Perry and Faylene Plunkett, both of Glen Allen; nieces, nephews and other relatives.

Funeral Services were held Saturday, May 3, 2008 at 11:00 AM from the McGraw Memorial Chapel of Miles Funeral Home. Roger Hubbert was the officiating minister. Burial followed in the Hopewell Cemetery.
