Vernon Lewis Love, 64, of Linton and formerly of Clay City, passed away Monday, April 21, 2003 at his residence.
Born Jan 17, 1939 in Clay County, he was the son of Moses and Helen Dorothy (Partlow) Love. He was an Army veteran.
Survivors include, one daughter and son-in-law, Betty and Paul Page of Clay City; one son, Bryan Lutz of Sullivan; 10 grandchildren, Paul and Angel Page, Jennifer Lutz of Sullivan, Desiree and Donelda Sumner, Samuel, Dakota and Cherokee Hyde, and Erica Hyde all of Linton; Cheyenne Riley of Worthington; his companion, Dixie Hyde of Linton; his companion's children, Florence Hyde and her fiancee Jennifer Sumner, John Riley, Brandy Hyde all of Linton; three sisters, Norma Keller of Clay City, Jeannetta Doall of Paris, Tenn., and Bonnie Carey of Paris, Tenn.; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Rex and Shirley Love of Clay City and Ronnie and Mary Love of Terre Haute; several nieces and nephews; and several step children.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Maxine Caddell and Frances Hughes, and his parents.
Funeral service will be at Schoppenhorst Funeral Home in Clay City at 1 p.m. on Friday with Pastor Mark Grubbs officiating. Burial will follow at Maple Grove Cemetery.
