Joan Blasko, 70, of Butler died peacefully at her home at 11:45 p.m. Jan. 10 surrounded by her family.
Born on Dec. 27, 1943, in Butler, she was the daughter of the late Paul W. McCune and the late Mary Ellen "Doll" Gould McCune.
She retired from the Sunnyview Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, where she worked for over 25 years as a nurses aid and in housekeeping.
She was a Methodist.
She enjoyed being outdoors, dining out, video games and being with her grandchildren and her family. Joan was humorous and liked to make people laugh.
She married Albert J. Blasko on July 6, 1964, and he died on Feb. 28, 1999.
She is survived by her two daughters, Joyce and Larry Schnur of Herman and Alison and Robert Ritzert of Renfrew; her seven grandchildren, and her great-grandson. Also surviving are her three sisters, Mary and Charles Rottman of Petrolia, Dolly Pistorius and Uncle Sam of Chicora, and Betty and John Craig of Chicora; her two brothers, Paul McCune of Ohio and Charley and Deb McCune of Karns City, and her several nieces and nephews
BLASKO - At the request of Joan Blasko, who died Friday, Jan. 10, 2014, there was no visitation or viewing. Private funeral services were held with the Rev. Sam Lewis, pastor of United Methodist Church, 203 Central Ave., Chicora, officiating.
Arrangements were entrusted to the STEIGHNER FUNERAL Home, 111 E. Slippery Rock and Main streets, Chicora.
