Freda Lou Wallace Denton, 98, passed away Thursday, Jan. 9, 2014, in Dallas. Graveside service: 1 p.m. Monday in Shannon Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fort Worth. Visitation: 3 to 6 p.m. Sunday at Greenwood Funeral Home. Freda was born June 27, 1915, in Lancaster to Albert and Rebecca Wallace. After more than 40 years in the banking industry, she retired from Bank One, formerly Continental National Bank, in Fort Worth. She was a consummate "84" player and loved to cook for large family gatherings. She moved to Dallas in 1998 and lived there until her death. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Warner; son, Drue; sisters, Geneva Barker, Flora Wallace and Sue Roddy; and brothers, Ralph Wallace Sr. and Miles Ford. Survivors: Daughter, Suzann Denton-Pratt and husband, William, of Las Vegas, Nev.; son, Douglas Denton of Dallas; daughter-in-law, Jan Denton of Cincinnati, Ohio; granddaughters, Stephanie Denton and husband, Iyad Abouamara, of Cincinnati, Ohio, Allison Currie and husband, William, of Dexter, Mich., and Taylor Gordon and husband, Devin, of Las Vegas, Nev.; niece, Ruth Morris of Benbrook; nephews, Ralph Wallace Jr. of Temple and Kenneth Rash of Seattle, Wash.; a number of great-grandchildren; great-nieces and great-nephews and their families.
