Wilbert Louis Barbian, age 83, passed away on Thursday, January 9, 2014 at the Northwest Medical Center of Springdale, Arkansas.
He was born on June 3, 1930 in Kress, Texas, a son of Louis Tony Barbian and Louise Magdalena (Berner) Barbian.
He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict, was a volunteer for the Salvation Army in Rogers, Arkansas for eight years and was a member of Downtown Church of Christ in Rogers, Arkansas.
Wilbert is survived by one son, Louis W. Barbian of Gentry, Arkansas; one daughter, Joyce Barbian Bohannan and husband Randy of Springdale, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Crystal Hewitt, Aaron Bohannan and wife Jennifer, Whitney Jo Bohannan and Emily Hardgrave; 8 great grandchildren; one brother, James T. Barbian of Amarillo, Texas. Wilbert loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his wife of 60 years, Mildred "Millie" Barbian.
Visitation will be held at the Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home, 2230 N. Thompson, Springdale, Arkansas on Sunday, January 12, 2014 from 2:00pm-4:00pm.
Graveside service will be held Monday, January 13, 2014 at 2:00pm at the Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Springdale. Pastor Warren King will officiate the service.
