Funeral services for Agnes Barber Tyler, 83 of Marshall will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday January 11, 2014 in the Chapel of Downs Funeral Home with Rev. Aubie Gene McSwain and Horace Neely officiating. Interment will follow in Algoma Cemetery North. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2:30 p.m., Saturday January 11, 2014 prior to the service. Mrs. Barber passed away January 8, 2014 in Marshall.

She was born February 9, 1930 in Center, Texas to Colon D. and Minnie Palace Clark McSwain. Agnes was a member of Victory Baptist Church. She worked as an Inspector for Thiokol and retired after 29 years of service.

Surviving Agnes are one son, Jimmy "J.B." Barber of Longview; two daughters, Kathy Moore and husband Gary of Lindale and Debbie Woods of Marshall; four grandchildren, Teddy J. Woods Jr. and wife Kelly of Hallsville, Angela Wheeler Chandler and husband Eric of Colleyville, TX., Kim Wheeler and husband Hal of Palm Springs, CA and Stephanie Woods Lahay and husband Jody of Jefferson; eight great-grandchildren and one brother, Warren Gene McSwain of San Augustine, TX.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, O.B. Barber and three brothers.

Serving as pallbearers will be Teddy J. Woods Jr., Eric Chandler, Jody Lahay, Gary Moore and Chris Grantham.
