Eddie A. Boggs, age 68, passed away Thursday Jan. 9, 2014 in Sylvania, OH. The son of Elmer and Pearl, he was born Aug. 10, 1945 in Soldier, KY. He was a graduate of The Ohio State University and came to Toledo in 1972 to pursue a Master degree from the University of Toledo. During his 35 years as an educator, he also enjoyed sharing his love of music. After retiring from Sylvania Schools in 2007 Eddie did not slow down. He became a licensed tour guide and performed nationally with the New Christy Minstrels. His smile, sparkling blue eyes, servants heart and infectious love of life is the Eddie we remember. Eddie is survived by his wife, Chris (McCance) Boggs; daughters, Allison Boggs, Sara (John) Roemer, Grace Barton; grandchildren, Landon, Jackson, Kate, Grant and Nola; mother, Pearl Boggs; sister Ernestine Obney; brother, Carl Boggs, Verlin Boggs and Glenn Boggs. He was preceded in death by his father, Elmer Boggs and sister, Ruth Nickles. Friends may visit the family on Sunday from 2-8 PM at Walker Funeral Home 5155 Sylvania Ave (west of Corey Rd). Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Monday at Flanders Road Church of Christ 5130 Flanders Rd. Toledo, OH 43623. A private burial will take place at Franklin Church Cemetery Mansfield, OH.
