UPTON LEE BROWN, SR., 56, Highfield, Md., died suddenly at 4:30 p.m., Saturday at his home. He had been in failing health after suffering a heart attack April 8.
He was born at Lantz, Md., June 18, 1911, son of the late Ivan and Alta (Royer) Brown. He had made his home in Highfield since his marriage to Miss Esther N. Cool in July 14, 1936.
Brown had been employed as a machine operator at the Landis Tool Co. since 1941.
In addition to his widow, he is survived by four children: Charles Brown, Miss Barbara Brown, and Miss Donna Brown, all at home, and Upton Brown, Jr., Cascade, Md.
Also surviving are these brothers and sisters: Mrs. Wilbur Fox, Sabillasville; Clarence Brown, Mrs. Harry Davis and Ivan Brown, Jr., all of Lantz; Jesse Brown, Cullen, Md.; John Brown, Mrs. James Eyler and Mrs. Charles Wagaman, all of Thurmont, Md.; William Brown, Harrisburg; Paul Brown, East Liverpool, Ohio; Francis Brown, Essex, Md., and James Brown, Washington, D.C.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at St. Rita's Roman Catholic Church, Blue Ridge Summit. In charge of the service will be the Rev. Daniel Mahoney. Burial will be in St. Andrew Cemetery.
Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today at the Grove Funeral Home.
