Mrs. Hester Armelda Ellison Leece, age 87 of Crab Orchard, Kentucky passed away Thursday December 12, 2013 at The Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation in Berea, Kentucky.

Mrs. Leece was born in Whitley County, Kentucky on July 27, 1926, a daughter of the late Henry Robert and Ollie Cupp Ellison. She was a housewife, had worked at Sowder Nursing Home in Brodhead and enjoyed needlework. She was a member of the Crab Orchard Church of God. On January 19, 1946 she was united in matrimony to G.D. Leece and from union came four children.

Mrs. Leece is survived by two sons: Larry (Joyce) Leece of Copper Creek, Kentucky, Roger (Joyce) Leece of Berea, Kentucky; One daughter: Judy (Clinton) Harris of Berea, Kentucky; Four grandchildren: Scott Sears, Detrina Owens, Melanie Leece, Dustin Leece; Eight great-grandchildren: Matthew Sears, Tyler Sears, Nicholas Alexander, Hannabeth Owens, Graclyn Owens, Anna Grace Sears, Noah Scott Sears, Nicholas Alexander; Three brothers: Herman Ellison, Darrell Ellison, Glen Ellison; Eight sisters: Opal Leece, Zella Lawson, Lelia Durham, Veralyn Ramsey, Jean Fuson, Estiline Noe, Ruby Brock, Saundra Freeman and several nieces, nephews, friends and neighbors.

Besides her parents, Mrs. Leece was preceded in death by her husband: G.D. Leece; One daughter: Patricia Lash; One grandchild: Paula Alexander; Three brothers: Henry Robert Ellison, Jr., Bobby Ellison, Joe Ellison; Three sisters: Maggie Ellison, Ruba Short and Elsie Ellison.

Funeral services for Mrs. Hester Armelda Ellison Leece will be conducted on Saturday December 14, 2013 at 1:00 PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals with Bro. Randal Adams and Bro. Lonnie Goodin officiating. Burial will follow in the Saylor Cemetery.

Visitation for Mrs. Hester Armelda Ellison Leece will be held on Friday December 13, 2013 from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and on Saturday December 14, 2013 from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM at the Marvin E. Owens Home for Funerals.
