Annie was born June 9, 1917, in Sabinal to G.W. Pruitt and Pearl Lambert Pruitt.

She was valedictorian of her high school class. Annie married Gearon Blankenship and together they shared 50 wonderful years. She worked in an airplane factory during World War II and also worked as a wedding gown seamstress for Neiman Marcus. Following that, she was a faithful homemaker to her husband and children.

Annie has been described as a sassy Texas woman who was full of grace. She had a tremendous love for her family, friends and church, and especially her grandkids, who called her Doe Doe. She was special to them and taught them how to laugh, love and share the same grace she did.

Survivors include two sons, Arley Blankenship and wife Rickey of Wimberly and Rick Blankenship and wife Lisa of Amarillo; three grandchildren, Collin Blankenship, Maggie Schade and husband Isaac and Lillie Blankenship; and her special friends, Pat and Don Painter.

The family wishes to extend special thanks to her caregivers at Canyon View Estates, Baptist St. Anthony's Hospice and Ware Living Center.

The family suggests memorials be to Washington Avenue Christian Church Building Fund, 3800 S. Washington St., Amarillo, TX 79110.
