Samuel Jacobs, a highly esteemed resident of Mulberry, died at his home yesterday morning [Nov. 1, 1916] at 4:30 o'clock. He had lived in town for a year, and was a retired farmer, and admired as a friend by all who knew him. On September 13, 1855, he was united in marriage with Rebecca Fidler, who died early in 1915. The deceased was born in Tippecanoe county south of Mulberry on April 2, 1833.

He is survived by nine children, thirteen grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, four brothers and two sisters. The children are: Elda Jacobs of Rockport, TX; Wilson Jacobs of Denver, CO; Mrs. Viola Abrams of Waterloo, IA; Mrs. Carrie Patton of Lafayette; Mrs. Martha Horlacker of Frankfort; Mrs. Thena Seager, William Jacobs and Joseph Jacobs, all of Mulberry. The funeral will be conducted from the M.E. church at Mulberry tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Rev. Ade will officiate and the internment will be in the Fairhaven cemetery.
