MELVIN L. LITTLE
CHESHIRE - Melvin L. Little, 55, Cheshire, died early Saturday morning in Veterans Memorial Hospital at Pomeroy.
Mr. Little became ill Friday night after working in his yard at the family home. He was born Sept. 8, 1923 at Cheshire, son of the late Bennett and Edna Morris Little.
He was employed as a car salesman for Thaler Ford Agency of Gallipolis. He formerly worked at Keith Goble Ford, Middleport, and for several years for the Ohio Highway inspector. Prior to his employment with the State of Ohio, Mr. Little worked for the C and O Railroad Company.
He attended the Cheshire Methodist Church and was a member of the K of P Lodge, Gallipolis, and a Democratic Central Committeeman for Cheshire Pct. Mr. Little also served at one time on the Cheshire Village Council.
Survivors include his wife, Catherine L. Montgomery Little, a daughter, Mrs. Roger (Marilyn) Morgan, Rt. 1, Gallipolis; three sons, Larry L. Little, Cheshire; Wade L. Little, Bidwell, and Michael L. Little, Vinton.
A sister, Mrs. Stan (Gladia) Ridge, Wellston, a brother, Harold Little of Middleport, 10 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at the Rawlings-Coats Funeral Home with the Rev. Merlin Teets officiating. Burial will be in Gravel Hill Cemetery at Cheshire.
Visitation will be held at the funeral home any time after 9 p.m. Monday.
