Mrs. Harry (Lucy Mae Shirey) Bishop, daughter of Mr. And Mrs. Isaac Bishop, was born in Brayton, Audubon County, Iowa on 14 December 1879. She was a member of the Christian Church in Exira, Iowa.

On 19 of May, 1901, Lucy married Harry Bishop of Atlantic, Iowa. They became the parents of four daughters and two sons, all at home at the time of her death. She died on 11 December 1918 in Benson, Nebraska as a result of injuries from a fall caused by boys coasting on a sidewalk.
Besides her husband and six children, her survivors include three sisters: Mrs. W.H. Rogers and Mrs. R.O. Carley of Exira, Iowa and Mrs. O.M. Leffleur of Guthrie Center, Iowa; and three brothers: B.F. Shirey of Waterloo, Iowa, J.F. Shirey of Palmer, Nebraska, and Isaac Shirey of Brayton, Iowa.
