Wm. G. Whipp died at his home, 61 Hammond Ave., Friday morning at 5:15 after an illness of several months. he was 75 years old.
Mr. Whipp was a member of Co. G. 15th regiment, O. V. I., was wounded and taken prisoner at the battler of Stone River. he was also a member of Cook's brigade of the army of the Cumberland and was discharged Sept. 12, 1864. He was a member of the Christian chruch and the G. A. R.
Mr. Whipp is survived by his wife, three sons, Hosick M. and John of this city, William of Akron; five daughters, Mrs. R. Kennedy, Mrs. A. G. McGregor, Mrs. J. A. Fitger, Mrs. T. B. Finney of this city and Mrs. R. W. Barr of Lorain; one brother, J. M. Whipp of this city; one sister, Mrs. Thomas Merizn of Belpre; 27 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
